Joe Villanueva

While his name is Joe Villanueva, people just refer to him as “Joe V.”

Joe graduated from the University of Illinois in 1996 with a BA degree in English and a double major in English and Spanish.  In 2000 he graduated from Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington where he specialized in criminal law and procedure related courses, and was admitted to the Indiana bar later that same year.

Upon graduation, and for the next 22 years, Joe worked at the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office.  Cutting his teeth on traffic tickets and minor misdemeanor crimes, Joe’s hard work and commitment repeatedly elevated him to higher and high positions within the office throughout the years.  Joe served as Chief Deputy Prosecutor from 2009 until 2019 when he was chosen as head Prosecuting Attorney.  During those 22 years of service Joe has dealt with just about every kind of crime on the books.  Let him put those 22 years, and thousands of cases worth of experience, to work for you!   Joe has been on that side, knows how the evidence needs to work, and knows how to look for any kind of deficiency or flaw in the case.  Not every case results in a trial, but you deserve to have an attorney you know is willing to put in the work and go the distance for you, up to an including a trial. Even the playing field and put a fighter like Joe V. on your side!

Joe has been very involved in his local community, including being an adult leader and former Committee chair in his son’s Boy Scout Troop.  He has served on the Board of Directors for Adult and Child health from 2011-2024 and was most recently the Board’s Vice President.  Joe is passionate about advocating for those suffering from behavioral or mental health issues.  He is also a former member of the Veteran’s Committee for his local Elk’s Lodge, and a Master Mason.  He and his family attend Emmanuel Church.
